This has been one of my favorite apps for along time. I never had any REAL complaints with it. It records music and lets me edit it. I just now used it after the update it gave. I came here to complain. Then thought, let me mess with the new updated app for more then 5 minutes before i complain. I figured some stuff out, needless to say. Its always been great software to use for music editing. For me, Now its betters. So easy to trim access recordings of just air. a quick swipe and a mouse click of a red X on the top. And finally we can scroll again just by swiping the magic mouse. Good job developer! Thank YOU!
I am glad that I didn’t spend a lot of money on this App. There is no support for this. I have sent 10 emails and nobody reply. The only reason why I purchased this App was to record system audio. I downloaded the drivers (Greatdy Computer Audio Device) and still not working. So, I just threw away $5.00 + Taxes in the toilette.
This program isn’t perfect, not by a long shot. However, it helps you record from your computer and that’s awesome. You can add the metadata along with a album image. Which is all nice. It certainly helps on the rare stuff. Which is what I use this for. Getting rare and unusal music onto my iPhone. There are two things that annoy me about this app: 1.) You cannot import your own songs. If you alter or convert an existing file that you have. You need to play it then record the audio from the mac. It’s a bit combersome, but workable. It would be nice to have an import feature instead. 2.) You must edit the metadate first! If you trim the clip to where you want but forgot something in the metadata your’re screwed! You have to go back in and edit again. It doesn’t seem to save. This is something that I have adapted to, but I hate. I want to edit the metadata last. Not first. It would be nice if this was fixed. Overall, it’s a useful app for one or two things. This will not be a garage band replacement. That’s okay with me. This is all I need sometimes. I don’t want the full editing functions all the time. Buy this program for that reason. Don’t buy it for any other.

Haven’t used it long but so far I’m satisfied it does what it says it can do.
I’ve tried to record some of my audiobooks using this program, but all 4 attempts to record the audiobooks have failed. It takes quite a few hours to play and record an audiobook, and every time that I’ve done it, the final file has be cut off (it also doesn’t inform me that the recording has a time limit). For example, the last time I recorded a six hour audio book and the file ended at 3:12:00. The app just isn’t fully working.
I bought a lot of apps that didn’t work as a searched for an app that would record the computer audio, or the system audio. This was the 4th paid app that I purchased trying to do this and it was the only one that worked. Note that this did require me to install a plugin outside the mac app store, but it does allow me to do what I needed to do (which was record CLE lectures playing on my computer to Mp3 for car listening). I haven’t done any recording longer than about an hour so I can’t speak to the other reviewer’s complaint that it wouldn’t record an audio book of several hours long. I haven’t tried that but for short 1 hour lectures it works great.
I am giving this product five stars because it works to suit my needs. I use it to record the audio portion of online streaming content. I use the Safari browser; output is in MP3 format. The only issue I have with the app is the output location. I changed the location multiple times in preferences yet my change keeps returning to the default location. It would be nice to be able to set this preference permanently.
I used to hook my stereo system to my iMac to record my music from Spotify and Freegal then burn them on the Philips CDR 560 just to make a Cd.Well,no more of that with this little app. it those all the work without hooking up all the wiring from my stereo and the Philips,thanks.
Really good for the most part
It does not always work as it should but overall I am happy with it. It has a tendency to put breaks were there should be and not put breaks where they should be. It's easy enought to put in the missing breaks but as far as I have tried, I can not join two recordings to "repair" a break.
Will Not work with new Imac
I LOVE this app, but I bought a new computer and it will not work on it. I installed the plug in, but it gets no audio from the computer or the Mic. No response from the support team in over 36 hours.
DOES NOT WORK, NO SUPPORT- DOES NOT WORK ON BIG SUR
Wasted my money. Mac, Big Sur, plugins don't work. Support links only takes you to subscribe to a newsletter. Don't waste your money.
Won't capture computer audio.
My purpose for buying is that it is advetised that it can capture computer audio. It can capture microphone input, but not computer audio. Using Catalina
It USED TO work, but it doesn't anymore on Catalina!
Works on my older iMac with El Capitan, but it won't work on my MacBook Pro with Catalina. What a waste of money - BEWARE!!
Liimited app worked; bought it. Now full app fails!
I trialed this and it worked to my expectation (though you have to download an Audio Device driver). Now it fails to record using the driver, but mic is fine.
Unable to open the Greatdy Computer Audio Device
For the computer audio recording fuction, I downloaded the third party device several times, but failed to open the Greatdy Computer Audio Device... Other recording functions are just same as those free recorder apps, so this app is a waste of money for me!
A Must Have!!!!
This app is AWESOME!!! It does just what it says it will do. The uses for this tool goes on and on. I’ve been using it for over a year and I have absolutely no complaints. True, you have to download another piece of software. True, the “presentation” of that site could be better. But once you do, it works!! Oh, and you can save it for your computer or you can sent it into iTunes or whatever you’re using. Don’t let snowflakes keep you from this awesome app.
OK
It does what I most needed - to record audio from the system. What it lacks is even the simplest editing functions, such as trim and save. The developer says I have to export the file first, but I just want to listen to it a couple times then delete it Voice Memos, the app which comes pre-loaded on mac, can trim a clip and save it. Then you can listen to your edited clip. Voice Memos, however, can't record system sound apparently but only sound from a mic.
Stopped Working With Catalina
Used to love this app. With Catalina it has stopped working. There are some instructions on how to fix it but I followed them and they don't work. Now I need to find a different tool. Hope they fix this but I need something right now.
Internal recording requires additional incompatible software
"Greatdy computer audio device" does not work on Catalina for internal audio recording (Audio Device as an input).
Doesn't record computer audio...
...unless you download 2 plug ins. I would not have purchased this if I had known I would have to download additional items. Not sure how to get my money back.
Stopped working on update
worked amazingly for years, then an update stopped the computer audio option so you could only record via the computer mic or get an additional driver Getdy or something and it never EVER worked. So WAS a great little program only to be completely useless.
great little product
I am a composer and often times here somthing I want to remember or learn and all you have to do is push the button and it will record anything coming out of your output This app is the opposite of all the BS I have spent money on ( Like the loop boxes which are all by the same company and in 4 years have not shanged the sounds or made them usable. It’s almost unbelieveable how much I use this. The only thing that is off is the record audio while recording the source ( Like a vocal idea) I would give it 10 stars if there was such a thing
Been a Great App for Years, but not with Catalina!
I have used this app for years and it works great for recording high quality audio. However after updating to Catalina, it stopped working. Developer, please update! This is a GREAT app and I already miss it.
False advertising as app does not work as stated
I bought this to record audio from the computer but the app does not allow this. Instead a PDF with instructions that dont make sense tell you to downkload an audio plugin that does not work. A total waste of time and money.
Beware
The app states that it can record computer audio. The app is sold without the ability to do that. It requires a third party download and installation to record computer audio. This download requires you to bypass the security settings in your mac to install. This is not what I paid for.
Don’t do it.
I can’t believe I paid for this. If you open app and try to capture audio, it opens a shady PDF that takes you to an even shadier website (no SSL, dated 5 years ago) and are told to download a software package - Against my better judgement, I actually tried to install the additional package - I was able to download it, but my computer outright refused to install the files due to security flags.

'Computer Audio' not working
The audio device plug-in is recognized by the app, but the input levels are always zero - it's not getting any system audio. Lots of time wasted trying to get this working to no avail.
Inexpensive Great quick editing tool
Audio Recorder records and quickly edits anyting you can play on your Mac—let’s you edit it fast and send to many formats and quality levels. Great app to clip audio or say get some music?? :)
Great Little APP
A great app for capturing streaming music. The music is saved in MP3 format and the editor works fine.
Works fine with High Sierra
Installed today, it makes fine system audio recordings in High Sierra 10.13.2 (17C205). It is not Audio Hijack, by any means. However, it works when other apps do not. Simple use, don’t ask it to solve the world peace problem, but it gets the basic job done and does it well. Interface is reasonable, a decent app. It’s cheap folks, give it a whirl if you know that you want to record system audio.
Security Concern
I thought this might be a good app to record system audio. And it may be except for one major security concern. In order to record system audio you have to download a plugin from their website. Why wasn’t this plugin included in the app? Why can’t it be downloaded through the App Store? Could it be that it might not pass Apple’s rigorous security scrutiny? I’m not going to trust some website that I’ve never heard of before and know nothing about. The security of my computer is worth more than the $4 I paid for this. Deleted it.
Useful App
I find it a great program to record music that is streaming through my computer. But, I’m having a hard time getting it into iTunes. It is driving me crazy. I want to get some of this into my phone…but… It would be helpful if there were some directions. It’s a waste of time, strumbling around, trying to figure out basic stuff!!!! It’s not so intuitive, but I like it ….as far as I’ve figured it out.

Inexpensive, Good Quality, Application
The application has worked very well for me. The sound quality has been very good. I wanted something simple and easy to use and so far everything I have tried to do using this application has worked. I have been using it for over two years now. It has been upgraded, if I remember correctly, at least twice. After the upgrades I had to re-learn how to use it, which was time consuming but not difficult.
Easy to Use
It does what I wanted and it’s easy and quick to learn it.
Loved it until i upgraded the OS
I like the app, I can record audio from some of my faovrite meditations on youtube and put them on my MP3 player. It is easy to cut out dead space. I like the new version because I can now record without having to be quiet during recording from the computer. Kudos to this. When I upgraded to Sierra OS X,It chnaged a lot... it doesn’t load very fast, sometimes just won’t respond, and it is very slow to select a recorded file, has glitches when I click on it and right click to find the file. It didn’t have this problem before I upgraded to Sierra. OS X.
Does not record system audio
The app does not record system audio without downloading and installing a system extension from a website that is written in broken english.
The Only Version They Should Offer
Fell for the trick on the free version to sucker me in to this one you have to buy! The free one only records 50 seconds at a time and is about useless! This version is okay & I think it will do fairly good for my uses! I would of gladly paid for this version if there would of been up front information about the limits on the free one but I feel like I was hustled!
isn’t working
At first it worked. Then it stopped. I restarted my computer and it worked again. Then it stopped. I restarted my computer again, but it didn’t work. So, I uninstalled it and the plug in. Reinstalled it… but it still doesn’t work. I’m frustrated.
